Workflow

Work is continuing on 0.6b.  I never quite realized exactly how much writing goes into the game.  I've changed my workflow a bit during content creation, where the last thing I actually do is use VX.  I'll write directly into Word now, using a combination of margins and frames to match the workspace of VX.  It's been so much easier to write with the benefits of a spell check and grammar check.  And simply being able to read the end result without using the game's interface is great.  Switch over to 3dcg to create the images and then open up vx and worry about the actual code.

And it also lets me know how many pages of content is actually created.  0.6b is over 50 pages already and I doubt if I've written anything more than 20% of what I have planned for 6b.  50 3dcg images, maybe 15% of that workload done.  Maybe 5% of the actual coding, but that's usually a bit shorter.  And of course 0% of the testing done, so don't interpret any of those percentages into eta's.

And teasers!

    1. I won't be able to update the readme.txt until next version, but that's a good idea. I've updated the forum links before, blog link updated as well.

  4. G'luck to you, ker.
I'd offer to help with your writing, but alas, I know not what plans you have, nor is my writing any where close to good as yours.

    1. The main plotline is mine (and secet!) but I've worked with other writers before. Fenja's arc and Phoebe in Corsix was written by Deloir and imercinary. If you know how to create events in VX I can pretty much turn you loose if you have any good ideas. Otherwise I'm always looking for help writing brothel scenes. Short sex, less than a page long usually. Can have some impact throughout the game but usually not.

    2. Ah, a'ighto.
I haven't used VX in a long time, so I might not be much help there, unless I re-learn it and whatnot.
Brothel scene-wise, I can likely help, depending on what kind of stuff you require.

  5. One thing that always let me down about RPGMaker was the awful dialogue editing. Even if you followed the arrows marking the limit of the visible text at the main screen, there were problems about it's accuracy. So that prevented me from writing a good script for any of my projects.

But... man, you sure are smart! I didn't come up with your idea and it's neat. Using a monospace font and limited margins you could, indeed, make a lot of progress writing a polished dialogue and narrative. I'm going to use that for sure, you genius! xD

Ah, and thanks for the teasers and, of course, your hard work so far for the next version. Dark Angel on her knees and bounded...? Sure looks promising... ;-)

  6. Love the game, long time fan :) If you ever need anyone to proofread dialogue, I'm more than happy to sift through shitloads of text. Anyway, I'm contactable at marky_clayton@hotmail.com

    1. Not speaking for Ker, but I'm pretty sure that the character's name variable does not reset. I know what you say, not saying that it's not happening: it is, but It's more likely that the text of dialogues doesn't make use of the name variable and instead "Ralph" was specifically written instead so, to fix that, it would be needed to check every dialogue internally and change "Ralph" for the correct name variable.

In my case, I just play with the default name anyway, to not break immersion. ;-)

    2. It is a known bug. I had to use a script to reset character stats going into VX (they've changed over time and they don't reset at all inside of a single game) and didn't think to remember that I enabled renaming of characters.

  8. Why can not we play after the end of the game in version 0.6a.3?
Please consider for the next version.
But overall I really like this game.
